Hydraulic systems

Centralized valve system

We perform calculations and design the vessel's common hydraulic system and we use high quality products from recognized suppliers.

A centralized location on board provides easier installation and maintenance, this also makes it easier to connect the safety systems and accumulators for emergency operations.

Back-up when needed

In case of an emergency situation the ship shall be equipped with a safety system that provides energy even in dead ship conditions.

Our safety system comprises nitrogen accumulators or batteries. This system is designed in accordance with Norwegian Maritime Authority regulations FOR-1853 and FOR-1072.

Choosing the right HPU

Our HPUs are designed in closed cooperation with our customers after analyzing the intended operations. We perform calculations and design based on connected equipment and duty cycles which provides required capacities in all conditions. 

The HPUs are built as compact units, and can also be customized to fit hull structures.

Conventional hydraulic system

We design and deliver hydraulic pumps with load sensing (LS) as conventional PTO arrangement for installation on main engines and gear.

Extra power when needed

SHM Hybrid System is a perfect auxiliary power source in addition to the PTO system. We integrate electro-hydraulic pump units with the existing oil tanks and generators. With this configuration you will get extra hydraulic power and increased redundancy. Cranes or deck equipment can be operated without main engines running. In order to achieve maximum power from both systems, a specially designed valve control is provided enabling full speed for both thrusters, cranes and deck equipment.

SHM PMS is also designed for integration to electric battery vessels.
